I remember feeling like a must appear rude and crazy to show up at people's doors on Christmas morning or New Year's day. Things like these always made me wonder about the sanity of my parents, for one, and the organization. Why don't JWs every get a day off?

Emotional Blackmail
by neverin init's local election voting day here in the uk so a lot of kids have got the day off from school (schools are used as polling stations).
i have just been walking alongside the nearby canal with my daughter and met a group of two ladies, a girl and a boy in wheelchair who were walking in the opposite direction.
the boy in the wheelchair approached me and said "would you like a leaflet?".

Don't all JWs use the cuteness of children to push the WT? The first field service memories I had was handing a tract to the lady at the door. I was told to smile, etc. I remember doing the same with my little brothers and sister too. Another thing taught at the KH - "Involve the children in the FS. The main point is to not upset the child if they are too young to understand you aren't rejecting them, and them don't let it go any farther. I also remember doing street witnessing in the rain on a chilling Saturday in downtown Milwaukee's corporate area... not many around then! But met a few street bums and shady characters. Enough to freak out a young kid (and her mother!).

This is awful!!! The article I linked here said her parents were JWs! http://www.nospank.net/n-i69.htm I hadn't realized that. Also, her mother whipped her too. And her older brothers tied her down. When the girl began to bleed, they boys turned her over, tore off her shirt and pants and the parents whipped her some more. I can't believe so much anger and the participation of the rest, especially the mother. Congrats! You got your life back... Soon you'll have so much spare time you might need a hobby or two!! I love being able to sleep in on the weekends. I never had a chance before and was always exhausted from my full time job paying job and part-time NOT PAYING JW job.
